Locksmith in Plantation Acres
For Plantation Acres, Charlie D. handles house lockouts from $99, rekeys from $95, and the gate, barn and outbuilding locks that come with a large lot — always with the price given on the phone first. The rate is the same at night, and a long driveway or a back pasture gate doesn't add a trip fee.

What makes Plantation Acres different
Plantation Acres is the city's large-lot area in the west, in ZIPs 33323 and 33325, developed in the 1960s and often described as Plantation's "equestrian town" (Sunny Isles–Miami Real Estate). Volunteer Park sits inside it, and so does the Plantation Equestrian Center at 1451 NW 118th Ave — opened in April 2005, with 96 stalls on 85 acres and the home of the Plantation Acres Saddle Club (City of Plantation; Our City Media).
A window installer that works here describes estate lots with long runs of glass (Republic Window). The city's parks give you easy reference points when you call: Volunteer Park at 12050 W Sunrise Blvd, Plantation North Acres at 12001 NW 21st Court, and Plantation Acres South, also called Tara Park, at 11600 Tara Drive; Plantation Acres Middle School sits at 800 NW 118th Ave (City of Plantation).
So a typical property has more than a front door: a driveway gate, a barn or stable, a shed or workshop, a pool area and several sliders.
Locks we work on here
- Driveway and estate gates: padlocks, chains, latches and keyed gate locks that rust in sun and rain. More on gate locks. On a powered gate we take care of the lock, latch and manual release; the motor and operator go to a gate company.
- Barns, tack rooms and feed rooms: weather-rated padlocks and hasps, keyed alike so one key opens them all.
- Sheds, workshops and guest cottages.
- Long sliding glass doors: latches that no longer catch, plus an extra pin lock or a block that stops the panel being lifted out (sliding-door locks).
- Pool gates that don't self-close and latch (pool-gate latches).
- Original 1960s hardware on the house itself — see the older-homes guide.

How a visit goes
- Call or text with what's locked and a photo if you can.
- The price, then an arrival estimate — about 20 minutes even to the far end of a long Acres driveway, confirmed when you call.
- At the property Charlie D. shows photo ID; you show a photo ID that carries the address — or a lease, deed or utility bill in your name.
- Non-destructive first — picking or rekeying before anything is cut.
- Test every key on every lock, then pay. If the animals are loose near the gate, tell us where to park and who will meet us.
Questions
Can all my gates, barn and house use one key?
Usually yes for standard cylinders and padlocks from the same keyway. We'll tell you which ones can't.
Do you replace rusted gate padlocks?
Yes. Rekeying a badly rusted padlock rarely pays; a new weather-rated one usually does.
Is it the same price at night?
Yes. No night fee.
Do you work elsewhere in Plantation?
Across the city — see Jacaranda and Hawks Landing.
